Salary Range: $60,000 – $80,000 / year DOE
Accounting/Finance Specialist Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices and freight bills for accuracy and timely payment
- Utilize a transportation management system (TMS) to manage shipments, reconcile freight charges, and streamline billing workflows
- Reconcile carrier statements and resolve billing or rate discrepancies
- Prepare customer invoices including accessorial charges
- Maintain AP/AR records and supporting documentation
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow
- Collaborate with operations to validate billing and shipment costs
- Generate aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
- Assist with month-end close, journal entries, and financial reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
- Prepare financial analysis on freight costs, client profitability, and budget vs. actual performance
Accounting/Finance Specialist Requirements:
- 2+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
- 6+ months of logistics or 3PL industry experience
- Strong familiarity with TMS platforms
- Strong accounting foundation in AP, AR, reconciliations, and journal entries
- Solid financial understanding of cash flow, profitability, budget vs. actuals, and compliance
- Knowledge of freight billing, auditing, customer invoicing, and freight charges
- High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to collaborate with cross-functional teams
