A private equity firm is seeking a high-caliber, detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join their team in San Diego, CA. This role is essential to growing the finance team, responsible for managing month-end close processes, financial reporting, inter-company transactions, and communication across multiple portfolio entities. They are looking for a confident, polished professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and takes pride in delivering accurate and timely financials without the need for constant oversight. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and has a strong accounting background at reputable firms.

Salary Range: $115,000 – $135,000 / year DOE

Accounting Manager Responsibilities:

• Own month-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Prepare and analyze financial statements across multiple entities
• Manage amortization schedules and inter-company invoicing and loans
• Oversee and process checks, ACH payments, and obtain proper approvals
• Collaborate closely with VP-level stakeholders to track and manage expenses
• Maintain and update reports for internal stakeholders and leadership
• Work across multiple entities, including private equity and healthcare-focused portfolio companies
• Pull, filter, and analyze large datasets in Excel
• Contribute to process improvement and documentation of procedures
• Communicate effectively with internal and external parties to meet deadlines and goals

Accounting Manager Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 7–8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Hands-on experience with journal entries, financial statements, and month-end close
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with multiple entities and inter-company accounting
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• High level of professionalism, communication, and self-direction
• Experience in a well-established, reputable organization
• NetSuite experience is preferred
• Supervisory experience is a plus
