An established and thriving distribution company based in Los Angeles, California is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join and support its dynamic accounting team. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth financial operations by managing a high volume of invoices, verifying approvals, preparing timely payments, reconciling vendor accounts, and assisting with a variety of AP projects. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys collaborating with a close-knit, team-focused workplace.

Salary Range: $50,000 – $52,000 / year DOE

AP Specialist Responsibilities: 

• Process a high volume of freight invoices weekly with accuracy and efficiency
• Post invoices and verify approvals prior to payment
• Prepare and schedule ACH and wire payments
• Run AP aging reports and monitor outstanding balances
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Communicate with internal departments including HR, Sales, Purchasing, and Warehouse
• Send payment confirmations to vendors and factories
• Support the AP Manager and Controller with additional projects and tasks

AP Specialist Requirements: 

• 1+ year of accounts payable experience
• Background in wholesale or manufacturing preferred
• Proficiency in Excel including pivot tables, v-lookups, and data manipulation
• Strong organizational skills with ability to handle competing priorities
• Effective communicator able to collaborate across multiple teams
• Comfortable in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
• Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly in a small business setting
• No degree required; experience and ability to grow within the role valued
