A leading law firm in Dallas is seeking a hands-on Controller to manage and oversee accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone with law firm experience who thrives in a fast-paced, autonomous environment and enjoys rolling up their sleeves to drive results. The Controller will supervise staff, manage month-end close, and reconciliations. Ideal candidates are polished, detail-oriented, and able to communicate effectively across departments.

Controller Responsibilities:

• Lead the accounting team and oversee daily financial operations
• Manage month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and banking processes
• Supervise and mentor staff to ensure accuracy and team development
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies while implementing process improvements
• Communicate effectively with partners, attorneys, and staff across departments
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls across all departments and entities

Controller Requirements:

• CPA license required and bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 5-7+ years of accounting experience in a law firm environment
• Proven leadership and supervisory experience managing mid-sized teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced Excel formulas
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Experience with accounting system transitions preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
