A global leader in coil-processing systems is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to join their high-performance sales team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of complex sales cycles involving custom-built industrial capital equipment sold to steel service centers and metal processors across the country. This is a client-facing, solution-oriented position that blends technical knowledge with strategic sales execution. They are looking for an experienced, self-starting sales engineer who thrives in a high-pressure, high-touch sales environment and is eager to grow into a future leadership role.

Salary Range: $100,000 – $105,000 / year DOE

Senior Sales Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Manage and close complex, long-cycle capital equipment sales
  • Travel ~50% to client sites across the U.S.
  • Conduct technical presentations, equipment demos, and solution walkthroughs
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design custom equipment solutions
  • Develop detailed proposals, technical specs, and project documentation
  • Drive lead generation and new business development
  • Collect customer insights to guide internal product development
  • Partner with leadership to improve sales strategy and customer satisfaction
  • Support onboarding and mentorship of junior sales engineers

Senior Sales Engineer Requirements:

  • 5–8 years of experience in capital equipment sales or sales engineering
  • Proven ability to manage long sales cycles
  • Experience working closely with technical teams to customize product solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50% of the time
  • Comfortable working onsite and in the field
  • Strong self-starter with the confidence to operate independently
  • Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce or HubSpot
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field is preferred
  • Prior experience selling metal processing or coil equipment is a major plus
  • Certifications in sales engineering or relevant tech fields is preferred
