A defense manufacturing company is seeking a technically versatile Electro-Mechanical Engineer to help expand its engineering team. This role will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to develop, model, and support the production of advanced cockpit and instrument panel systems for aerospace and defense applications. The ideal candidate will be both systems-savvy and hands-on, with deep knowledge of military standards and strong CAD capabilities.
Salary Range: $95,000 – $150,000 / year DOE
Electro-Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities:
- Interpret customer requirements and translate them into manufacturable designs
- Create and modify AutoCAD/3D models, dimensional drawings, and sub-component schematics
- Evaluate feasibility of new projects and assist with product quotes and design-for-manufacturability
- Work alongside production teams to troubleshoot, train, and implement designs
- Ensure product compliance with MIL-SPEC, DO-160, and other aerospace standards
- Collaborate on system-level integration and support certification documentation
- Produce manufacturing travelers and support the entire product lifecycle
Electro-Mechanical Engineer Requirements:
- 10–20 years of experience in electro-mechanical engineering, ideally in aerospace or defense
- Strong background in electrical engineering, system integration, and MIL-spec standards
- Proficient in AutoCAD and 3D modeling; experience with design for manufacturability
- Experience with cockpit displays, avionics, HMI, wire harnesses, and related assemblies
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electro-mechanical engineering
- Ability to thrive in a small-team, fast-paced environment and collaborate across functions
