Salary Range: $21.67 – $30.48 / hour DOE

Certified Coder/Billing Clerk Responsibilities: 

• Review and code medical records using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS
• Prepare and submit medical and behavioral health claims to insurance companies
• Verify insurance coverage and follow up on pending or denied claims
• Correct errors and appeal denied claims to ensure proper reimbursement
• Assist patients with billing questions, payment plans, and collecting co-pays
• Maintain organized patient files and accurate documentation
• Use NextGen system to review, correct, and manage patient encounters
• Collaborate with providers, patients, and insurance companies to resolve billing issues

Certified Coder/Billing Clerk Requirements: 

• Certified coder (AHIMA or AAPC)
• At least 2 years of experience in medical or behavioral health billing and coding
• Certificate from a medical institute or an Associate of Arts or Science degree
• Proficiency in Word and Outlook
• Experience working in medical or behavioral health settings
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
