Job Description
A highly respected and well-established Georgia-based law firm is seeking an experienced Land Use & Zoning Litigation Attorney to join their growing team. This attorney will focus on representing government and municipal clients in complex zoning, land use, and regulatory litigation matters. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior attorneys and play a critical part in advising clients on a wide range of administrative and land development issues. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented litigator with strong drafting skills, courtroom experience, and a passion for public service law.
Land Use & Zoning Litigation Attorney Responsibilities:
- Handle litigation involving zoning, land use, and regulatory matters from intake to resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents with accuracy and legal insight
- Conduct legal research and develop strategies for complex land use cases
- Represent clients at hearings, depositions, and in court
- Collaborate with colleagues and provide mentorship when needed
- Stay current on local and state land use laws, zoning regulations, and planning ordinances
- Maintain high billable hour standards
Land Use & Zoning Litigation Attorney Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Georgia
- Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience, with land use or zoning preferred
- Familiarity with administrative law and governmental representation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word
- Strong research, organizational, and time-management skills
- Background in defense litigation is a plus
- Experience working with or representing government entities is preferred
- Strong client communication and courtroom presence
