Job Description
A real estate firm is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Administrator to join their team in Raleigh, North Carolina. This role is responsible for managing the receipt and payment of all property tax bills and assessments across their portfolio of properties, coordinating monthly compliance reporting to lenders, and maintaining key financial records related to loans, reserves, and taxes. The ideal candidate will be a proactive multitasker who thrives in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment and takes pride in accurate, high-quality work. They are looking for someone with a strong administrative and accounting background, excellent follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks while supporting leadership.
Accounting Administrator Responsibilities:
- Track receipt and payment of all property tax bills, assessments, and compliance documents
- Verify payments via phone or online platforms across various taxing jurisdictions
- Coordinate with property tax appeal firms and manage third-party invoices
- Maintain records of all federal and state tax returns from external accountants
- Coordinate timely signing and mailing of tax returns and business filings
- Prepare and submit monthly compliance reporting packages for loan portfolio
- Monitor reserve accounts and submit reimbursement requests to lenders
- Abstract loan compliance requirements and maintain related documentation
- Support investor relations with monthly rent rolls and quarterly cash flows
- Prepare capital project tracking sheets and construction management invoices
- Calendar management and scheduling support for Controller and CFO
- Ad hoc financial reporting and administrative support as needed
Accounting Administrator Requirements:
- 5–7 years of administrative or accounting support experience
- Prior experience managing/filing property tax documentation
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and Access
- Strong analytical skills with experience preparing reports and financial analysis
- Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business is preferred
- Experience with Yardi and mail merge a plus
