Job Description

A well-established real estate investment and management firm is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Resident Manager to oversee operations at an apartment complex in Anaheim. This role is responsible for day-to-day property operations, tenant relations, staff management, and overall performance of the community. The ideal candidate is a proven leader who thrives in a fast-paced, people-centric environment and has experience managing large multi-family properties of 300+ units.

Salary Range: $80,000 – $100,000 / year DOE

Resident Manager Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of a 424-unit residential property, ensuring high standards of service and upkeep
  • Supervise and lead an onsite team, including maintenance, leasing, and weekend support staff
  • Manage tenant relations, resolve resident concerns, and foster a community atmosphere
  • Oversee move-ins, move-outs, lease renewals, and ensure timely turnover of vacant units
  • Monitor and maintain occupancy levels and assist in marketing/leasing strategies
  • Collaborate with maintenance to prioritize work orders and ensure timely repairs
  • Handle emergency issues and coordinate solutions
  • Conduct property inspections to ensure quality, safety, and compliance
  • Maintain detailed records of rent collections, delinquencies, and ensure timely reporting
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Communicate regularly with the Regional Manager and report on performance metrics
  • Utilize property management software for tracking and reporting

Resident Manager Requirements:

  • 6–7+ years of experience as a Property Manager or Resident Manager
  • Proven track record managing 300+ unit multi-family communities for 2+ years
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced setting
  • Professional and polished communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience supervising staff and handling performance management
  • Working knowledge of property management software, Yardi preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
  • Must live within 20 minutes of the property if not residing onsite
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
