Job Description
A leading manufacturer of precision-engineered gears and gearboxes is seeking an experienced and results-driven Inside Sales Manager to lead their inside sales and customer service operations. In this role, you will oversee a team of estimators and customer service professionals, ensuring accurate quoting, responsive client support, and seamless coordination with production and engineering teams. You will play a vital role in optimizing the customer experience and supporting business growth through proactive communication, efficient systems management, and strategic deal support. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a strong background in gear manufacturing and a passion for team leadership, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
Salary Range: $130,000 – $160,000 / year DOE
Inside Sales Manager Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the inside sales and customer service team
- Oversee estimation and quoting processes to ensure timely and accurate bids
- Support outside sales with client communication, technical clarification, and quote reviews
- Track and follow up on all bids, RFQs, and customer inquiries through CRM
- Maintain detailed records of customer communications and status updates
- Coordinate with production and engineering to ensure accurate delivery schedules and expectations
- Manage house accounts and long-term client relationships
- Review client portals daily for delivery metrics, updates, and scheduling changes
- Track booking activity and prepare sales activity reports
- Identify and assign resolution tasks for customer issues with clear owners and deadlines
Inside Sales Manager Requirements:
- 5+ years of inside sales or sales support experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting
- 3+ years of experience in the gear or custom gearbox manufacturing industry
- Proven experience managing a team
- Strong knowledge of purchase orders, requests for quote, and technical quoting
- Proficiency in CRM systems, ERP tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, technical environment
- Strong follow-through and attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Experience supporting outside sales teams and working across departments is a plus
