Job Description

A global sovereign wealth fund entrusted with managing the foreign exchange reserves of the Republic of Korea is looking to grow its team by adding an Investment Associate. The San Francisco office drives private equity and venture capital investment strategy across North America, with a focus on high-growth sectors including technology and biotech. This Investment Associate will play a central role in sourcing, evaluating, and executing direct and fund investments. They will lead market and corporate research, develop strategic recommendations, and closely monitor portfolio performance across venture and private equity partnerships. They are seeking a sharp, curious, and highly analytical investment professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment where rigor, precision, and teamwork drive every decision.

Salary Range: $165,000 – $170,000 / Year DOE

Investment Associate Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate private equity and venture capital investment opportunities in North America (US/Canada) with emphasis on tech and bio sectors
  • Conduct detailed financial modeling, valuation, and fundamental company analysis
  • Perform due diligence for direct investments and fund commitments
  • Develop investment strategies and present recommendations to senior leadership
  • Monitor portfolio companies and fund relationships to ensure performance and risk alignment
  • Prepare investment memorandums and research reports for global review
  • Collaborate closely with investment teams in Korea through weekly reviews and frequent communication

Investment Associate Requirements:

  • 1 – 7 years of experience in private equity and/or venture capital
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, and formulas
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or related field
  • Proven ability to conduct market analysis and apply risk and portfolio management principles
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a disciplined approach to managing investment risk
  • Strong communicator comfortable working with global partners and stakeholders
  • Stable career progression with strong performance record
  • Korean written and verbal language skills preferred
