Job Description

A global technology and engineering company is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join its design engineering team in Houston, Texas. This role is focused on developing the next generation of electric actuators, giving the engineer the opportunity to drive product innovation from concept through launch. The position centers on new product development rather than sustaining existing lines, with responsibilities ranging from shaping product architecture to designing circuit boards and electrical subsystems. The engineer will provide technical guidance and oversight to a distributed team, ensuring high-quality designs and seamless integration of electrical and mechanical systems for diverse industrial applications.

Electrical Engineer Responsibilities: 

  • Contribute to high-level product vision and architecture for new actuator designs
  • Design and review circuit boards and electrical components from the ground up
  • Ensure proper integration of electrical subsystems with mechanical systems
  • Guide and delegate design work to a team of engineers located internationally
  • Review and validate detailed design work performed by remote teams
  • Apply knowledge of common industrial communication protocols (e.g., HART, Fieldbus)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align electrical and mechanical interfaces
  • Stay current with evolving technologies, standards, and industry practices

Electrical Engineer Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience in industrial or manufacturing products
  • Hands-on experience designing circuit boards and electrical components from scratch
  • Understanding of how electrical subsystems integrate with mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with common industrial communication protocols (e.g., HART, Fieldbus)
  • Ability to delegate tasks, review technical work, and provide oversight to junior engineers
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with distributed teams
  • Must be able to work on-site in Houston, Texas with hybrid flexibility
