A private equity firm is seeking a highly driven and intellectually curious Research Analyst to support its investment and operations team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining complex financial models, preparing board decks and pitch presentations, and supporting deal execution and portfolio company performance. The ideal candidate is a confident communicator with a sharp analytical mind, capable of distilling complex information into succinct deliverables for capital partners and stakeholders.

Research Analyst Responsibilities:

• Build and manage advanced financial models
• Create compelling PowerPoint presentations for board meetings, capital raises, and investor communications
• Conduct detailed financial analysis and due diligence on new investment opportunities
• Assist in preparing investment memos and synopsis decks for Limited Partners
• Collaborate closely with portfolio companies to obtain data, assess performance, and identify value-add opportunities
• Maintain clear, concise written communication for internal and external stakeholders
• Synthesize complex ideas into simple, actionable insights for pitch decks and investment materials
• Coordinate with internal team members and external stakeholders during live deals

Research Analyst Requirements:

• 2–3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or a top-tier consulting/accounting firm
• Bachelor’s degree
• CFA or CPA preferred but not required.
• Expert-level Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Experience building comprehensive financial models from scratch
• Exceptional writing and communication skills; ability to explain complex topics clearly and concisely
• High level of intellectual curiosity, persistence, and a collaborative, team-first mindset
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and willing to relocate to San Juan, Puerto Rico for the majority of the year
• Ability to travel occasionally
• Background in middle-market lending or leveraged finance is a strong plus
• Exposure to AI, cybersecurity, or government contracting sectors is advantageous
• Familiarity with Salesforce, DealCloud, Deltek ERP, Figma, and other investment tech platforms
