A dynamic and growing organization in the construction industry is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all accounting and finance functions. This role involves managing the day-to-day financial operations, owning the budgeting process, guiding internal controls, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The Controller will work closely with the leadership team to support operational strategy and will serve as a key resource across departments. Controller Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting operations including AP, payroll, and financial reporting
• Manage and enforce accounting policies and internal controls in alignment with GAAP
• Lead the annual budget process and financial planning initiatives
• Monitor development budgets and project financial performance
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support strategic decision-making
• Lead and mentor a small accounting team, fostering a positive team culture
• Serve as a liaison with external auditors and assist with annual audits
• Maximize the use of internal accounting and operational systems

Controller Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 6–8 years of accounting experience, with at least 2–4 years as a general contractor
• Cost accounting experience
• Proven experience overseeing financial teams and managing AP compliance processes
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, GAAP, and debt compliance
• Experience working in a company subject to annual audits
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with industry systems
