A leading construction firm is seeking a sharp and detail-oriented Estimator to join its growing team. This fully onsite role in Framingham, MA centers on the preconstruction phase of government contracts, reviewing solicitations, developing comprehensive scope-of-work packages, analyzing subcontractor proposals, and supporting coordination on design-build efforts. This is a hands-on estimating opportunity ideal for professionals who thrive on precision, independence, and close collaboration with internal teams. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in construction estimating, especially in fixed-price or design-build environments, and excels at managing multiple scopes with accuracy and confidence.

Estimator Responsibilities: 

• Review RFP and solicitation documents for completeness and clarity
• Identify inconsistencies and generate scope-related questions
• Distribute bid packages and manage subcontractor/vendor inquiries
• Compile and organize quotes from vendors and subcontractors
• Develop detailed scope-of-work packages including narratives and quantity take-offs
• Perform side-by-side analysis of proposals based on scope, inclusions, exclusions, and timelines
• Build pricing analysis sheets for internal review
• Assist with scope definition for design-build proposals and subcontractor agreements

Estimator Requirements: 

• Minimum 6 years of construction experience, with a focus on estimating
• At least 3 years of tenure at a single employer
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Experience with fixed-price, design-build, or self-perform estimating
• Familiarity with preconstruction processes; government contracting is a plus
• Strong communication, organization, and document reading skills
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent scopes independently and collaboratively
