Job Description
A leading interior construction subcontractor is seeking a proactive Construction Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives and oversee risk management across commercial and residential project sites. This role is vital in ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, delivering safety training, and creating a culture of accountability on job sites. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and confident navigating job site dynamics, OSHA standards, and contractor relations. They are looking for a safety-first leader who can balance regulatory rigor with team collaboration, maintain high safety standards, and ensure that crews return home safely every day.
Salary Range: $85,000 – $125,000 / year DOE
Construction Safety Manager Responsibilities:
- Conduct and lead on-site safety meetings and toolbox talks
- Ensure OSHA compliance and adherence to all federal, state, and local safety regulations
- Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices on construction job sites
- Develop and implement hazard control procedures and safety programs
- Maintain and monitor safety documentation and compliance reporting
- Support the company’s cost containment and risk mitigation efforts
- Investigate incidents, support root cause analysis, and manage corrective actions
- Serve as a key liaison between project managers, site supervisors, and labor crews
- Provide expert-level consulting on site-specific safety concerns and improvements
- Assist with training and development for site personnel on safety policies
Construction Safety Manager Requirements:
- 5+ years of safety management experience in the construction industry
- Demonstrated expertise in OSHA compliance and safety regulations
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to enforce safety protocols tactfully
- Ability to manage multiple job sites and prioritize time effectively
- Experience running safety audits, investigations, and reporting
- Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with safety documentation systems
- OSHA 500 certification preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or related field preferred
- Spanish bilingual skills a plus
