Job Description

A well-established manufacturer’s rep firm in the technology and semiconductor space, is seeking a Sales Representative based in Rochester, NY, to join their high-performing team. This is a hybrid role with heavy client interaction, involving four days per week on the road and one day managing CRM updates and pipeline strategy. The Sales Rep will manage a territory generating $2.75M–$5M in sales revenue and will inherit a significant book of key accounts. The ideal candidate is a self-starting, tech-savvy communicator who knows the Rochester market, enjoys customer engagement, and thrives in a performance-driven, independent environment.

Sales Representative Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of 20–25 active accounts
  • Develop relationships with end users and distributors
  • Conduct in-person visits with clients 4x/week across the Rochester territory
  • Work from a home office one day/week to manage CRM updates and prospecting
  • Support and maintain client accounts by providing product knowledge and consultative service
  • Drive sales by pushing manufacturer products through distributor channels
  • Utilize client and internal CRM platforms to manage contacts, opportunities, and reporting
  • Collaborate closely with current sales leadership for product training and mentorship
  • Participate in weekly remote sales team meetings
  • Transition into the Upstate New York Territory Manager role over time

Sales Representative Requirements:

  • 1–3 years of experience in sales, technology or related field preferred
  • Strong understanding of technology basics; hobbyist-level interest is a plus
  • Must reside in or near Rochester, NY and have deep knowledge of the local business landscape
  • Excellent verbal communication, customer relationship, and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal oversight
  • Experience using CRM tools and Excel-like interfaces
  • Driver’s license and personal transportation required
  • Experience in semiconductor or electronics sales is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Familiarity with distributor sales models
