A well-established site work and excavation contractor in Carver, MA is seeking a Construction Project Manager to oversee full-cycle projects ranging from $2M to $15M, with a strong focus on excavation, grading, underground utilities, and road development. This role involves managing budgets, subcontractor coordination, cost tracking, and overall project execution, while maintaining strong communication with field teams, vendors, and executive leadership. The Project Manager will typically handle multiple job sites at once, lead pre-construction and progress meetings, and play a key role in ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality across all phases of construction. The ideal candidate is a grounded, proactive leader with deep industry expertise and a collaborative approach who thrives in a stable, tight-knit team environment.

Construction Project Manager Responsibilities: 

• Manage 3–4 active civil construction projects up to $15M, including site prep, earthwork, utilities, and roads
• Oversee project lifecycle from preconstruction planning to closeout, ensuring schedule, budget, and compliance goals are met
• Support estimating by reviewing bids and finalizing committed costs before field handoff
• Coordinate subcontractors, material procurement, and equipment usage to maintain workflow and control costs
• Complete RFIs, submittals, and client/vendor communications to maintain progress and resolve delays
• Provide monthly requisition forms and maintain billing documentation to ensure accurate reporting
• Conduct site meetings with GCs and Superintendents
• Collaborate with leadership on strategic goals, project systems, and continuous improvement of operations

Construction Project Manager Requirements: 

• 8–10+ years of overall construction experience
• 5+ years of specific experience in excavation and sitework
• Proven track record managing civil construction projects up to $15M
• Strong technical knowledge in earthwork, excavation, grading, compaction, and backfilling
• Hands-on experience with underground utilities including water, sewer, storm, gas, electrical, and telecom
• High proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
• Strong understanding of materials, tools, and equipment used in excavation and heavy civil work
• Solid leadership and communication skills across all levels of project teams and stakeholders
• Skilled in cost analysis, math, geometry, and problem-solving in a construction environment
• Proficient in MS Office and Excel
• Familiarity with Procore preferred
• Construction-related degree and OSHA certifications is preferred
