Job Description
A family-owned property management company is seeking a bilingual Assistant Property Manager to support the daily operations of a 300-unit high-rise residential building. Working closely with the Property Manager, this role is central to ensuring exceptional tenant experiences, compliance with policies, and efficient day-to-day management operations. Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, customer-service focused, and eager to thrive in a collaborative, family-owned environment.
Salary Range: $60,000 – $72,000 / year DOE
Assistant Property Manager Responsibilities:
- Support daily building operations, including tenant communications, leasing, and administrative tasks
- Respond promptly and professionally to resident inquiries, maintenance requests, and complaints
- Assist with apartment tours, inspections, move-ins/outs, and application processing
- Coordinate delivery schedules, rent preauthorization, and maintain tenant parking lists
- Manage package tracking via Luxor system and assist maintenance staff as needed
- Draft leases, lease renewals, notices, and other resident communications
- Ensure all resident files and documents are accurate and up-to-date
- Monitor vendor compliance and maintain Certificates of Insurance
- Order office and building supplies and support general office administration
- Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless property management operations
Assistant Property Manager Requirements:
- 2–5 years of experience in property management or residential leasing, 3–4 years preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, written and verbal, is required
- Strong working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with property management software; RealPage experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with fair housing laws and New Jersey tenant regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
- Exceptional customer service skills with a professional demeanor
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently
- Experience managing high-rise or large multi-family properties is a plus
- Background in building systems, vendor management, or resident relations is preferred
