A thriving ophthalmology and optometry group in Missoula, Montana is seeking a dedicated Optometrist to join their team. This full-service, regional referral center delivers comprehensive eye care with advanced equipment, a supportive team, and strong professional collaboration. In this role, the Optometrist will provide full-scope eye care, including exams, diagnosis, treatment, and patient education, while working closely with experienced assistants and visiting specialists. Optometrist Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive eye exams to assess vision health and identify potential eye conditions
- Diagnose and manage visual disorders such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia
- Prescribe corrective lenses, specialty contact lenses, and other visual aids tailored to patient needs
- Deliver pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients, including cataract and LASIK procedures
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists, referring providers, and healthcare staff for integrated patient care
- Educate patients on long-term eye health, contact lens care, and preventative strategies
- Accurately maintain and update patient medical records, insurance documentation, and clinical notes
- Ensure all diagnostic and treatment equipment is calibrated and operating properly for quality care
Optometrist Requirements:
- Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited institution
- Active optometry license in the state of Montana or ability to obtain
- Experience in patient diagnosis, treatment, and education
- Comfortable working independently in a smaller clinic setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with managed care plans and third-party insurance
- Detail-oriented with commitment to maintaining accurate records
