Job Description

A company based in Indianapolis is seeking a Corporate Controller to lead their accounting function. This key leadership role will oversee a lean accounting team, manage multi-location financial operations, and report directly to executive leadership. The right candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where everyone contributes across functions. They are seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on leader who can effectively manage accounting operations, ensure compliance with public company reporting standards, and support company-wide financial goals.

Corporate Controller Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and supervise a team of two Staff Accountants
  • Manage multi-entity revenue streams and monthly close for multiple operating units
  • Prepare and review monthly P&Ls and consolidated financial statements
  • Handle corporate payroll, A/P, and A/R
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and cash monitoring
  • Manage vendor billing, ACH transactions, and marketing allowance invoicing
  • Support quarterly and annual SEC reporting and external audits
  • Partner with the executives on financial analysis, reporting, and process improvement
  • Maintain compliance with financial reporting deadlines and standards

Corporate Controller Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a 4-year accredited college
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or Controller-level role
  • Experience in multi-location, multi-entity, or small public company environments
  • Strong background in accounting within a service-oriented business
  • Hands-on experience with Sage 50 and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with SEC reporting or public company audits is highly preferred
  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Indianapolis area
