Job Description

A well-regarded California-based law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support its dynamic litigation team in Los Angeles. This high-impact role involves managing the full lifecycle of complex civil litigation cases across business, insurance, and employment law. From document organization and e-discovery to preparing deposition summaries and supporting attorneys in trial, you’ll play a pivotal role in keeping litigation processes running smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-focused legal professional with strong litigation acumen and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative legal environment.

Salary Range: $95,000 – $115,000 / year DOE

Litigation Paralegal Responsibilities: 

  • Manage all phases of civil litigation including organizing case files, reviewing discovery, and preparing court-ready exhibits
  • Draft subpoenas, coordinate document productions, and maintain effective communication with attorneys, clients, courts, and vendors
  • Summarize depositions and medical records, and prepare responses to discovery
  • Assist attorneys during depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
  • Handle calendaring and deadlines related to court filings and discovery schedules
  • Track and maintain billable hours, with a minimum requirement of 1550 annually
  • Work on various matters including business disputes, insurance coverage, and employment litigation
  • Participate in ad hoc research, reporting, and data analysis as needed

Litigation Paralegal Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program (or equivalent certification if not ABA-approved)
  • Minimum of 7 years of civil litigation experience in a law firm setting
  • Proven expertise in e-discovery, trial preparation, and document production
  • Direct experience supporting attorneys in hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Familiarity with document management systems such as iManage is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask in a collaborative team environment
