A successful and growing electrical subcontractor is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join their tight-knit and collaborative accounting team. This is a dynamic, full-time onsite role where you’ll support the Controller across core accounting functions, including invoicing, procurement, timekeeping, and job costing. You’ll be cross-trained in all aspects of accounting and will play a key part in keeping financial operations running smoothly. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, family-owned construction environment, is highly organized, and ready to grow into a more advanced accounting role over time.

Salary Range: $70,000 – $90,000 / year DOE

Construction Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

• Process and resolve invoice discrepancies and maintain vendor communications
• Manage procurement entries, AP/AR tasks, and general accounting functions
• Backup payroll/timekeeping functions as needed
• Assist with job cost tracking and ensure accurate GL coding
• Ensure compliance with “pay when paid” policies and lien release requirements
• Support billing processes for large-scale, long-term commercial construction projects
• Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers and field teams
• Maintain a paperless invoicing system
• Provide backup support and cross-train on various accounting responsibilities

Construction Staff Accountant Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience within the construction industry
• Understanding of job costing, GL coding, and AP/AR cycles
• Must have month end and job costing experience
• Experience with lien releases, ACH/check runs, and invoice routing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general tech-savviness
• Highly organized, proactive, and eager to learn multiple accounting functions
• Familiarity with Foundation and/or Textura is a plus
• No degree required, but strong general accounting experience is essential
