Job Description
A leading national labor and employment law firm seeking a mid-level Employment Litigation Associate to join their dynamic Nashville office. This role involves handling employment litigation matters across Tennessee and California, providing top-tier client support, and actively participating in all stages of case management. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, a deep understanding of employment laws, and the ability to handle cases from inception through resolution. They are looking for a proactive, self-motivated attorney who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about employment law.
Employment Litigation Associate Responsibilities
- Manage Tennessee and California employment litigation matters from start to finish
- Draft and respond to pleadings, discovery, and dispositive motions
- Take and defend depositions and represent clients in mediations
- Work directly with clients on day-to-day employment law issues and provide strategic counsel
- Participate in a free-market case system, selecting matters aligned with your interests
- Collaborate with multiple partners on a variety of employment litigation matters
Employment Litigation Associate Requirements
- 2–6 years of employment litigation experience
- Admitted to practice in both Tennessee and California
- Experience handling California wage-hour class actions and PAGA cases
- Strong academic credentials and excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Proactive, self-starter who takes ownership of their workload
- Experience with restrictive covenants and trade secrets law is a plus
