Job Description
A family-owned industry leader is seeking a driven and personable Outside Sales Representative to join their Long Island territory team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced sales professional to represent premium architectural building products, including brick, stone, exterior applications, and paving, directly to architectural firms. You will be responsible for securing product specifications and building strong, long-term client relationships. Salary Range: $80,000 – $100,000 / year DOE
Outside Sales Representative Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with architectural firms and assigned client accounts
- Present product offerings through “lunch and learn” presentations and in-person client meetings
- Generate leads through provided resources and proactive cold calling.
- Manage the full sales cycle—from identifying project opportunities to securing product specifications and closing deals
- Collaborate with sales assistants for quoting and administrative support
- Build a diversified sales pipeline, handling both small and large projects
- Maintain detailed sales records using Microsoft Suite and proprietary software
- Meet and exceed sales targets with unlimited earnings potential
Outside Sales Representative Requirements:
- 5+ years of outside B2B sales experience
- 1-2 years of specification sales experience working directly with architectural firms to secure product specifications
- Must reside in or have strong familiarity with the NYC/Long Island market
- Strong presentation skills; confident speaking in front of groups of people
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must own a vehicle for travel within the Long Island territory
- Outgoing, personable, self-motivated, and results-driven
- Existing contacts within the architectural community is a huge plus
- Experience selling architectural building products or working directly with architectural firms is preferred
