A social services organization in San Diego, CA is seeking a detail-oriented Temp Accounting Associate for a 4–6 month assignment. This fully onsite role supports billing and accounts receivable functions, including preparing and reconciling Medi-Cal and MCO billing, processing payments, and collaborating with internal departments and external agencies to resolve billing issues. The ideal candidate will be organized, dependable, and ready to manage a high volume of transactions in a mission-driven environment. They are looking for someone with strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and a proactive approach to solving problems in a fast-paced nonprofit setting.

Salary: $24 – $26 / hour DOE

Temp Accounting Associate Responsibilities: 

• Prepare Medi-Cal/MCO billing and reconciliations
• Prepare Share of Cost billing to regional centers and related agencies
• Post billing and payment information to the general ledger
• Work with internal departments and external agencies to resolve billing, payment, and authorization issues
• Reconcile accounts receivable sub-ledgers
• Analyze receivable accounts on a monthly basis
• Assist with billing as a subcontractor for a partner organization
• Support cash and check deposit processes
• Act as a mandated reporter following established guidelines

Temp Accounting Associate Requirements: 

• Two years of accounting experience required
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word required
• Accounts receivable experience preferred but not required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
• Must obtain CPR/First Aid certification upon hire (training provided)
• Available to work fully onsite, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
