A well-established client-focused CPA firm is seeking a Tax Manager to oversee client relationships, lead complex tax engagements, and manage a growing book of business. This is a highly client-facing role with the opportunity to shape the firm’s future and fast-track into a partnership for the right candidate. Salary Range: $140,000 – $175,000 / year DOE

Tax Manager Responsibilities:

• Manage and develop long-term relationships with clients across diverse industries
• Oversee and review complex business and individual tax returns and projections
• Lead tax planning engagements with a focus on real estate, high-net-worth individuals, and small businesses
• Identify, research, and resolve complex tax issues independently
• Mentor junior staff and lead training initiatives
• Take ownership of an existing book of business and eventually transition into managing new client relationships and referrals
• Collaborate with partners on business development and growth strategy
• Participate in strategic firm meetings and client visits as needed

Tax Manager Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience working in a public accounting firm
• CPA or EA license
• Proven experience managing complex business tax returns, including real estate and tax planning engagements
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—must be comfortable engaging with clients directly
• Must be comfortable in a paperless office and familiar with cloud-based systems
• Ambition to grow into a partner-level role in the near future
• Experience with QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, and a paperless workflow is preferred
• Existing book of business is a huge plus
• Strong mentorship skills and a passion for team development
