Job Description
A credible personal injury law firm in Washington D.C. is seeking a Paralegal / Case Intake Specialist to join its team. This role plays a key part in screening new personal injury client inquiries, evaluating claims, and supporting attorneys throughout both pre-suit and litigation phases. The individual will conduct detailed client intake interviews, draft legal correspondence and discovery documents, manage calendars, and maintain strong communication with clients, medical providers, and insurance adjusters. The ideal candidate is personable, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Salary Range: $60,000 – $80,000 / year DOE
Paralegal/Case Intake Specialist Responsibilities:
- Conduct client intake calls and assess potential personal injury cases
- Collect and document case information from new clients
- Communicate with insurance adjusters, medical providers, and experts
- Draft legal documents including letters, pleadings, and discovery
- Assist attorneys with litigation preparation and case support
- Manage scheduling, calendaring, and case deadlines
- Support various paralegal duties as needed when not handling intake
- Maintain accurate records using case management software
- Provide empathetic and professional service to clients in distress
Paralegal/Case Intake Specialist Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a paralegal at a personal injury law firm
- Prior experience handling client intake calls for a law firm
- Strong knowledge of automobile and accident claims
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume workload with accuracy and attention to detail
- Personable and professional phone demeanor
- Comfortable working onsite in a collaborative, fast-paced legal environment
- Team-oriented, proactive, and willing to take initiative
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
