A Midwest-based real estate company is seeking a Staff Accountant to support their growing portfolio of residential properties. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the full accounting cycle for approximately 20 properties, including monthly financials, reconciliations, journal entries, and budget support. Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle accounting for 15–20 residential properties
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements
• Perform general ledger entries and reconciliations
• Execute month-end close processes
• Support annual budgeting and forecasting efforts
• Partner with property managers to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data
• Assist with audit and tax-related requests
• Communicate effectively with team members and property stakeholders

Staff Accountant Requirements:

• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Real estate or property management accounting experience required
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• High attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, but not required
• Experience with Yardi software is a plus
