A trusted financial institution is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join their Atlanta-based team. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead day-to-day accounting operations, including month-end and year-end close processes, journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, and staff supervision. Accounting Manager Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accuracy of financial data
• Supervise and mentor team members
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
• Prepare and review journal entries, adjusting and correcting entries, and general ledger postings
• Perform complex reconciliations across various financial and balance sheet accounts
• Maintain and reconcile Certificates of Deposits and ensure timely posting of interest
• Process electronic funds transfers and assign invoices to GL and bank accounts
• Lead preparation of internal and regulatory financial statements and reports
• Analyze and manage large financial datasets in Excel; maintain audit-ready documentation
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory reporting
• Administer the bank’s insurance, risk management, and trust investment portfolios
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance workflow efficiency
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and banking regulations
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support the bank’s financial goals and values

Accounting Manager Requirements:

• 3+ years of accounting experience within a banking environment
• Strong understanding of GAAP, banking laws, and regulatory requirements
• Proven experience in month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliations
• Supervisory experience overseeing at least 2 direct reports
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• High level of initiative, accountability, and ability to work independently
• Must pass background, credit, and drug screening
• Experience with FIS and BankTEL systems is a plus
• CPA certification or active pursuit within 1 year is preferred
