A well-established boutique law firm in downtown Los Angeles is seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney with 2–5 years of litigation experience to join its growing team. This role is 100% focused on complex insurance coverage litigation on the defense side, offering immediate hands-on experience with high-level casework. The Associate Attorney will work under the mentorship of partners, engaging in legal research, drafting, filings, motion practice, depositions, and more.

Salary Range: $130,000 – $160,000 / year DOE

Associate Attorney Responsibilities:

• Handle complex insurance coverage litigation from inception to resolution
• Draft and file motions, pleadings, discovery, and correspondence
• Conduct legal research and write legal memoranda
• Prepare for and attend depositions
• Assist with case strategy, discovery planning, and trial preparation
• Manage deadlines and ensure timely filing of documents
• Communicate with clients after being introduced by the lead attorney
• Collaborate closely with attorneys and support staff; contribute to a team-oriented culture
• Maintain a billable hour target

Associate Attorney Requirements:

• Active member of the California State Bar
• 2–5 years of litigation experience
• Insurance coverage litigation experience is strongly preferred
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational abilities
• Ability to handle shifting priorities and meet tight deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with Westlaw, Epic, and Coyote is a plus
• Team player with a positive attitude, high emotional intelligence, and strong internal communication skills
