Job Description
A fast-growing, family-owned commercial landscaping company is looking for a dynamic and motivated Commercial Landscape Sales & Estimator to join their close-knit team. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who thrives both in the field building client relationships and behind the scenes developing accurate, competitive estimates. The position is split 50/50 between generating new business through sales and site visits and preparing detailed project estimates and proposals. As the company scales, this role is expected to transition into a full-time estimator position.
They are looking for a people-first, team-oriented individual with experience in both sales and estimating, a passion for landscaping, and a strong understanding of construction practices and materials.
Commercial Landscape Sales & Estimator Responsibilities:
- Generate new business through cold calling, networking, site visits, and industry events
- Collaborate with Business Development to convert warm leads into signed contracts
- Maintain and grow relationships with current clients through regular site visits and account management
- Identify and recommend up-sale opportunities including redesigns, tree work, patio projects, and more
- Conduct “lunch & learns” and presentations for property management companies
- Read blueprints and site plans to understand project scope and materials needed
- Visit project sites to take measurements and assess potential challenges
- Use estimating software to develop accurate bids and cost breakdowns
- Communicate with GCs, developers, landscape architects, and internal teams to clarify project details
- Support the production and field team by ensuring a clear understanding of bid scopes
Commercial Landscape Sales & Estimator Requirements:
- 2+ years of industry experience. Ideally 5+ years in sales/estimating
- Proven experience generating leads and converting sales in a landscaping or construction-related field
- Knowledge of landscaping materials, construction practices, and pricing
- Strong math skills and attention to detail
- Outgoing, personable, and relationship-focused; must genuinely care about people
- Proficient in MS Suite, especially Excel, and able to quickly learn new software
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
- Must be comfortable in a faith-based work environment
- Bilingual in Spanish is a huge plus
- Passion for landscaping and gardening
- Experience with Aspire or LMN software is a plus
