A leading construction company in Southern California is seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of complex construction projects. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to effectively manage teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
They are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented leader with a passion for construction management, who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional problem-solving skills and has a strong ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project documentation.
Salary Range: $140,000 – $160,000 / year DOE
Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion
- Lead and coordinate project teams, including Superintendents, Engineers, and Subcontractors
- Ensure projects adhere to established budgets, schedules, and contractual obligations
- Develop and implement project-specific safety and quality control programs
- Work closely with the Estimating team during preconstruction to set project GMP and General Conditions
- Review, negotiate, and approve project contracts, change orders, and RFIs
- Maintain effective communication with clients, architects, engineers, and stakeholders
- Monitor project schedules and coordinate with Superintendents for any necessary adjustments
- Prepare and present project progress reports, including cost control and forecasting
- Ensure accurate project documentation, including submittals, material procurement logs, and closeout documentation
- Manage project financials, including subcontractor invoicing, owner pay applications, and cash flow projections
- Oversee project risk management, compliance with company policies, and industry regulations
- Represent the company at Owner, subcontractor, and coordination meetings
- Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to junior team members
Project Manager Requirements:
- 7-10 years of project management experience in construction, with experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or similar role
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred
- Extensive experience managing California-based commercial construction projects
- Must have Vertical building experience in CA working directly for a GC
- Proficiency in construction scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or P6
- Strong knowledge of CMiC, Prolog, Viewpoint, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, BIM 360 Glue, Safety Mojo, and other project management tools
- Advanced understanding of construction contracts and risk management
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification and First Aid/CPR certification required
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage project teams effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills, time management, and organizational abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of emotional intelligence
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
