A family office based in West Hollywood is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee full-cycle accounting and financial operations. This role plays a critical part in managing day-to-day financials, treasury functions, and maintaining a high standard of internal controls. Key responsibilities include supervising accounting staff, handling reporting across multiple entities, managing cash flow, and ensuring accurate financial documentation across family holdings.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented finance leader who thrives in a high-touch, hands-on environment, with the emotional intelligence to navigate a multigenerational family office and a strong grasp of accounting for complex entity structures.

Salary Range: $200,000 / year DOE

Controller Responsibilities:

• Oversee all day-to-day accounting functions across family office operations
• Supervise a small team
• Review and approve invoices and financial transactions across entities and households
• Manage treasury operations and cash flow planning
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Support investment execution including subscription agreements and payment processes
• Maintain internal controls and accounting policies/procedures
• Collaborate with principals on purchases, payments, and reporting updates
• Ensure proper accounting for insurance renewals and household expenditures
• Handle month-end close activities, journal entries, and reconciliations
• Maintain entity-level books and records
• Oversee accounting for a family-affiliated nonprofit

Controller Requirements:

• 10–12+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a family office setting
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
• Supervisory experience with the ability to manage and mentor team members
• High attention to detail and strong judgment with sensitive financial data
• General tech-savviness
• Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills
• Able to work fully on-site
