Job Description

An upscale Italian restaurant in East Greenwich, RI is seeking a dedicated and experienced Restaurant General Manager to oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and uphold the highest standards of food quality and cleanliness. This role involves managing staff, maintaining financial performance, and fostering strong relationships with both employees and the community. The ideal candidate will have fine dining experience, strong leadership skills, and a passion for hospitality, with a particular focus on Southern Italian cuisine and wine knowledge.

Restaurant General Manager Responsibilities: 

  • Manage all aspects of restaurant operations, including staffing, financial performance, and inventory
  • Train and supervise staff to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain service standards
  • Oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and consistency
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop and refine menu offerings
  • Hire, train, and schedule staff while fostering a positive work culture
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and ensure a clean working environment
  • Handle customer concerns professionally and implement strategies to enhance guest satisfaction
  • Develop marketing initiatives to attract new customers and increase revenue
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide mentorship to team members

Restaurant General Manager Requirements: 

  • Previous experience in a similar fine dining or hospitality management role
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Proven experience overseeing a P&L in a hospitality environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary trends
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software and financial reporting
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
