A leading full-service law firm specializing in estate and elder law planning, located in Manhasset, New York, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trusts and Estates Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team. Salary Range: $70,000 – $130,000 / year DOE 

Trusts and Estates Associate Attorney Requirements: 

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials 
  • Active membership of the New York State Bar Association 
  • 2-5 years of experience in trusts and estates law 
  • Exceptional writing and drafting skills, with the ability to prepare complex legal documents 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word 
  • Strong analytical, research, and communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload of approximately 20 cases at a time 
  • Willingness to travel to court proceedings across boroughs and maintain a flexible schedule 

Trusts and Estates Associate Attorney Responsibilities: 

  • Draft and review complex estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives 
  • Manage all aspects of trust administration, including asset distribution, tax filings, and court proceedings 
  • Advise clients on estate tax planning strategies, including generation-skipping transfer tax considerations 
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex estate and estate planning issues 
  • Collaborate with clients, financial advisors, and other professionals to develop personalized estate plans 
  • Represent clients in probate court proceedings, including contested estate matters 
  • Maintain accurate client files and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards. 
  • Handle real estate contracts and closings as needed
