A stable and growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Controller to manage grants, support budgeting and auditing processes. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Finance Committee and leadership team. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a small, collaborative environment, has strong nonprofit accounting experience, and is eager to contribute to a growing organization.

Controller Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end close, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
• Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and handle grant accounting
• Oversee budget management, financial reporting, and audit preparations
• Work with the Finance Committee and external auditors during annual audits
• Process bi-weekly payroll for 13 employees through ADP
• Reconcile credit card statements and process monthly credit card payments for clients
• Adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced nonprofit environment where flexibility and problem-solving skills are key

Controller Requirements:

• 2-4 years of accounting experience, including GAAP accounting, AP/AR
• Nonprofit accounting experience required
• Grant accounting experience is a plus
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered
