This role involves managing the claims process from start to finish, including de-escalating customer concerns, appointing loss adjusters, and ensuring timely resolution. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to handle high-pressure situations, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Insurance Claims Handler Responsibilities: 

• Manage marine insurance claims and provide support to policyholders
• Work closely with retail and wholesale brokers to facilitate the claims process
• Assist individual boat owners in resolving claims-related issues
• Provide guidance to customers who may be unfamiliar with the claims process
• Appoint loss adjusters and oversee claim progression
• Ensure claims are handled efficiently and in accordance with company procedures
• Act as the primary point of contact for claimants and keep them informed
• Navigate complex customer interactions with a focus on de-escalation and resolution
• Maintain accurate records and documentation within the internal claims system

Insurance Claims Handler Requirements: 

• Florida-licensed loss adjuster
• 1-2+ years of insurance claims experience
• Strong ability to work independently and manage cases with minimal supervision
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and maintain professionalism
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required
