A leading distributor of fresh produce and specialty foods in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their vibrant team in the Bronx, New York. Salary Range: $120,000 – $160,000 / year DOE 

Accounting Manager Requirements: 

• 5+ years of experience in corporate general accounting, including month-end close processes, internal controls, and financial reporting 
• Public accounting experience is a must 
• CPA certification or actively working toward it 
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Math, Economics or related
• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting and internal controls 
• Experience managing 2+ direct reports 
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel (analytics, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) 
• Proficiency in MS Dynamics 365, Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite 

Accounting Manager Responsibilities: 

• Lead and oversee a team of four, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting through training, work review, and process optimization 
• Manage month-end close activities, including generating reports, analyzing data, and preparing/reviewing journal entries 
• Review and prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations and P&L variance analysis 
• Partner with leadership to identify and implement process improvements and reporting advancements 
• Support year-end financial statement audits and prepare documentation for disclosures 
• Collaborate with department leaders to enhance internal controls and operational accounting processes
