A thriving logistics company is seeking a Customs Entry Writer with experience in import operations to join their small but dynamic team. This role will be responsible for processing customs entries, coordinating shipments, and supporting freight forwarding operations. As part of a smaller team, you’ll wear multiple hats, ensuring smooth customs clearance and assisting with logistics coordination. They are looking for a versatile, detail-oriented professional who is eager to expand their skills beyond entry writing and contribute to a collaborative environment.

Salary Range: $62,000 – $70,000 / year DOE

Customs Entry Writer Responsibilities:

• Process and submit customs entries under the supervision of a licensed customs broker
• Receive and process documentation from overseas networks
• Monitor cargo arrivals and communicate with customers regarding clearance and delivery
• Coordinate and dispatch cargo deliveries efficiently
• Handle billing and transportation documentation
• Support freight forwarding operations, including arranging shipments and coordinating deliveries
• Work closely with the Chicago team and assist other regional offices as needed

Customs Entry Writer Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Customs Entry Writer
• Proficiency in CargoWise
• Understanding of import operations, customs procedures, and freight forwarding
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt in a small, fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable working with local and international agents
• Prior experience handling both customs entry and forwarding responsibilities
• Willingness to learn and take on additional operational tasks
