A real estate firm is seeking a detail-oriented and self-sufficient Interim Accounting Manager to take ownership of corporate accounting responsibilities for a 4–6 week assignment. This hands-on role will oversee full-cycle month-end close for corporate entities, manage accounts payable, handle corporate reimbursements, and ensure accurate and timely owner distributions. The ideal candidate will be someone who can hit the ground running, work independently, and adapt quickly to a fast-paced, multi-entity real estate environment.

Salary Range: $30 – $40 / hourly

Interim Accounting Manager Responsibilities:

• Perform month-end close for assigned entities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Manage corporate accounts payable and related reimbursements to properties
• Process and reconcile daily banking transactions
• Prepare monthly reporting packages and bank reconciliations
• Record minority interest entries and other complex accounting transactions
• Process corporate credit card expenses and business licenses
• Prepare owner distribution schedules and initiate payments
• Maintain financial accuracy across intercompany transactions and bill backs
• Identify and execute process improvements as needed
• Participate in ad hoc accounting and operations projects

Interim Accounting Manager Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting platforms such as Timberline and/or Yardi
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement
• Must pass an accounting knowledge and skills assessment
• Real estate industry experience is preferred
• Familiarity with intercompany accounting and multi-entity environments
