A growing construction and restoration company in Hoover, AL is on the lookout for a driven and high-performing Vice President and Corporate Controller to join their leadership team! This newly created position comes at an exciting time as the company is preparing for a private equity sponsor, offering tremendous opportunities for growth and career advancement. The Vice President and Corporate Controller will oversee the financial operations of a multi-state business, manage a team of accountants, and play a key role in the company's future success. This role is hybrid, with four days in the office and one day remote, providing flexibility while maintaining a collaborative work environment. Vice President and Corporate Controller Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of experience in accounting, with supervisory experience (Big 4 background preferred)
  • Bachelor s degree in accounting
  • CPA is required and Big 4 audit background is highly desired
  • Strong experience with multi-state operations and financial management across multiple locations
  • Expertise in Excel (vlookups, pivot tables) and experience with Sage Intacct or similar systems preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a hands-on approach to team management
  • Experience working with private equity and navigating high-growth, dynamic environments

Vice President and Corporate Controller Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial operations including monthly GAAP book closing and covenant reporting
  • Manage a team of four senior accountants, with additional support from AP personnel and remote staff
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial reporting to lenders and private equity stakeholders
  • Handle commission payments to field staff and vendors, maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Work closely with the CFO on scaling financial operations as the company undergoes private equity sponsorship
  • Lead efforts to streamline processes and improve efficiency across multiple locations and states
  • Collaborate on financial strategies and growth initiatives, including potential acquisitions
