Job Description
An innovative engineering consulting firm in Austin, Texas is seeking a Vice President who will oversee diverse water and wastewater projects with a focus on civil elements such as pipelines, drainage, and tunneling. As a key member of the leadership team, this role will manage high-profile projects, including city and federally funded infrastructure initiatives, while providing mentorship to a collaborative team. The ideal candidate is a driven, hands-on professional who thrives in a supportive culture and leads by example.
VP, Water and Waster Engineering Responsibilities:
- Oversee civil engineering projects focusing on water and wastewater infrastructure, including pipelines, drainage, and tunneling
- Manage municipal construction projects, ranging from small-scale developments to large, federally funded initiatives
- Lead the design and engineering of pipelines along roadways and parklands
- Contribute to construction and program management efforts, including light rail and airport expansion projects
- Provide strategic leadership for engineering teams and ensure project success
- Mentor and develop team members while fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment
- Work closely with clients, municipalities, and federal agencies to deliver exceptional results
VP, Water and Waster Engineering Requirements:
- Must have Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas
- 12+ years of civil engineering experience with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role is required
- Expertise in water and wastewater infrastructure, particularly pipelines, drainage, and tunneling
- Experience with municipal construction projects, including city and federally funded programs
- Proficiency with CAD and other engineering software
- Strong leadership, communication, and mentorship skills
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with diverse teams
