Job Description
An international travel agency in Portland, OR is searching for an experienced Travel Agent to join their team! This is an exciting opportunity that allows you to connect people with amazing and transformative travel experiences. The position involves designing customized travel itineraries, managing client relationships and driving sales to meet ambitious goals, while enhancing the integrity and awareness of the brand. Salary Range: $43, 000 - $56, 000 / year DOE + OTE
Travel Agent Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in travel planning for groups and cruises
- 3-5 years of experience is preferred
- Advanced knowledge of destinations such as Europe, Asia, South Pacific, Central, and South America, and expertise in ocean and river cruises
- Proven track record of meeting sales targets in a travel agency setting
- Strong computer skills, including MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and GDS (Amadeus preferred)
- High school diploma or GED;bachelor s degree preferred
- Must be available for 2-4 weeks of travel per year to enhance product knowledge
- Valid passport for international travel
- Bachelor s degree in a relevant field
Travel Agent Responsibilities:
- Design and manage customized itineraries for diverse travel needs, including honeymoons, family trips, and group travels
- Maintain proactive communication through calls and follow-up emails with clients, ensuring top-notch service from the initial quote to the completion of travel
- Achieve sales targets with a minimum annual billing amount, contributing to the team's overall goal
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and clients, enhancing repeat business and client satisfaction
