Transactional Attorney
Job Description
A small, growing legal consulting firm in Waco, Texas is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Attorney to join their team. The firm specializes in providing general counsel services to title companies, banks, and rural utility cooperatives, as well as assisting clients with business law, real estate, estate planning, and probate matters. They are looking for candidates with strong writing skills and at least 1 year of transactional law experience to provide legal expertise across a variety of cases and ensure high-quality client service. Attorney Requirements:
- 1+ year of transactional law experience, or strong law clerkships or internships for recent graduates
- Knowledge of business law, real estate law, or probate and estate planning
- Texas Bar license and experience with Texas law
- Juris Doctor (JD) Degree
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Outlook and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and excellent writing skills
- Ability to ask questions and seek guidance when needed
Attorney Responsibilities:
- Serve as general counsel for title companies, banks, and rural utility cooperatives
- Review and prepare loan documents for banks and businesses
- Handle business formations, contracts, real estate transactions, and estate planning
- Manage new client intakes, including wills and uncontested probate matters
- Conduct in-person meetings with clients to provide legal advice and consultation
- Respond to client inquiries and manage heavy email correspondence
- Collaborate closely with team members to ensure quality legal service
- Use legal billing software and Excel to track time and work progress
