Structural Engineer
Job Description
A small but mighty engineering firm in Columbia, SC that specializes in structural engineering of industrial buildings is searching for a skilled Structural Engineer to join their team! This position is a great opportunity to design and manage a variety of projects where you will get to see them all the way through from inception to completion. The firm is open to candidates with a PE license from NC, SC, or GA for hybrid or remote work, as well as EIT-certified candidates to work onsite. There is minimal travel required for this role, so you will be able to focus on your work while enjoying a well-balanced lifestyle. Structural Engineer Requirements:
- Experience in structural building design
- EIT certification required for onsite positions, with the expectation to work towards a PE license
- PE license required for remote work
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an EIT, or 2+ years as a PE
- Experience with RAM structural software is preferred
- Familiarity with Revit is preferred
Structural Engineer Responsibilities:
- Design foundations for industrial buildings
- Design structural steel components and roofs/pits
- Work on projects ranging from 50,000 to 200,000 square feet
- Manage 3-4 projects simultaneously, each with a duration of 2-3 months
- Use AutoCAD and RAM structural software to complete designs
- Collaborate closely with other engineers and managers throughout the project lifecycle
