Job Description
A well-known nonprofit organization in San Diego is seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join their accounting team! This position is responsible for preparing year-end audit schedules, reconciling accounts monthly and assisting the overall completion of annual financial audit. The ideal candidate will have multi-entity accounting experience, a bachelor’s degree in accounting and familiarity with nonprofits.

Pay Range: $65,000 - $80,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Perform auditing of transactional data and ensure accuracy and compliance
- Verify tenant rent and audit the work of the property management company
- Collaborate with the property management company for month-end reporting
- Pull down reporting from tenant ledger and upload a summary into Netsuite
- Conduct thorough audits of intercompany transactions and maintain multi-entity accounting
- Work closely with the Manager of General Accounting to ensure the accuracy of GL and balance sheets
- Contribute to the prevention of outsourcing and play a crucial role in the organization's financial stability
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
- 5+ years of experience in an accounting role, including auditing, general accounting, and balance sheets
- Strong understanding of multi-entity accounting
- Familiarity with nonprofit accounting is preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain polished and accurate financial records
- Proficient in using accounting software such as Netsuite (preferred) and ADP (for payroll)
- Ability to work effectively in a challenging and fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
