Job Description
A tax consulting firm is seeking a Sr. Accountant to work closely with the Controller and manage the day-to-day financial operations of the company. For this role, you will be working onsite in Gainesville, TX, out of quiet office where you will be expected to have lots of autonomy. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in basic GAAP accounting, preferably in a consulting firm.
Pay Range: $70,000 - $80,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Book monthly entries and reconcile account balances and statements
- Review customer contracts and invoicing processes
- Perform budgeting and forecasting tasks
- Manage daily cash activity and support external audits
- Streamline accounting processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain financial statements
Requirements:
- 2-5 years of basic GAAP accounting experience
- Experience with Sage Intact and strong Excel skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a similar field is preferred
- Prior experience in a consulting firm preferred
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Good communication and critical thinking skills
- High level of accuracy and great time management skills
