Job Description
Position is based out of Albany or Buffalo - Albany location is preferred
A leading structural engineering firm in New York is seeking a highly experienced Sr Project Engineer to join their team at their Albany or Buffalo location. This role is perfect for a seasoned professional with extensive bridge engineering experience who is ready to lead complex projects, manage teams, and maintain strong client relationships. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a strong background in civil engineering, particularly in structural and bridge design, and is eager to take on significant responsibility. Salary Range: $50 - $60 / hour DOE
Sr Project Engineer Requirements:
- 10+ years of engineering experience, including substantial bridge design experience (minimum 3 years in bridge design is required if total experience is less than 10 years)
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on structural engineering, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation is a must
- Experience with AASHTO Wear is a plus
- Strong team player with the ability to work independently
Sr Project Engineer Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage bridge design projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to New York State DOT standards
- Oversee and review the work of a team of engineers, providing feedback, guidance, and approvals
- Perform structural calculations, CAD design, and detailed drawings for bridge projects
- Participate in weekly staff meetings to review project progress and plan the week s activities
- Manage client relationships, ensuring project requirements are met and client satisfaction is achieved
- Potentially engage in business development activities and attend industry conferences
- Maintain knowledge of relevant engineering software, including AASHTO Wear, MathCAD, AutoCAD, and MicroStation
